Plug-in Solar

Plug-in solar (aka balcony solar) is a new exciting technology that enables people to connect one or a few solar panels to their house and offset some but not all of their electricity requirements.

Every state has different laws about plug-in solar. Vermont has a new law that makes it easy and legal.

Previously, to go solar, you had to put a big array up on your roof, and run wires inside conduit down into the breaker panel in your basement and all this required an experienced electrician to do the work.

Plug-in solar is something anyone can do with little or no assistance. The new plug-in inverters are designed to connect directly into any outlet. Whenever the sun is shining the panel(s) will power some of your appliances and your utility company will provide the rest.

Even if you don’t own your home, or plan to stay long, it’s an easy way to get going with solar and every dollar you spend on it will save you money as long as you put the solar panel in the sun!

Green Heron Solar can help you find the right plug-in solar products and make sure you install them properly and safely.
